Meet Chef Juan Barcenas, owner of Mezza Luna Italian Eatery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Many Picasso’s Pizza fans have been looking for Owner/Chef, Juan Barcenas since he sold Picasso'’s on Wedington in 2007. Chef Juan is alive and well, serving up his famous dishes at Mezza Luna Italian Eatery. Mezza Luna opened its doors in March 2008.
Juan's life in the US began after obtaining political asylum and immigrated to Los Angeles as a teenager. He worked his way up at famous Los Angeles restaurants such as Benvenuto’s Cafe in West Hollywood and MezzaLuna, where he learned the basics of Italian cooking.
Juan moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1996 to work as Chef at Bordinos. Together, he and friend Andrea from Milano developed the Bordinos experience. Juan was the Chef at Bordinos for seven years, when he decided to persue his life long dream of having his own place, and thus the birth of Picasso's Pizza and More.
Juan surrounds himself with great help in the kitchen and an excellent team of servers.
